A variety of monsters live at the “Ishokan” reception center for those afflicted with Shinigami Disease, which serves as Mono’s base for her adventures. They live carefree lives, but will help you on your journey if you befriend them. This time, we’ll introduce three particularly eccentric residents.
The Hat Shop: Rad Hatter
A Shinigami who looks like a mouse. Energetic and fashion-loving.
By speaking to him at the base, you can exchange “Scraps of Paper”—items found within picture book worlds—for accessories that Mono can wear and “dress up” with.
Add a bit of style to your adventure with your favorite accessories!
Map Shop: Owlin
A Shinigami who looks like an owl. A quirky, knowledgeable creature who travels the worlds of picture books seeking thrills.
By speaking to him at the base, you can exchange Scraps of Paper for useful information about picture book worlds or stamps that serve as markers when placed on your map.
If you ever get lost or are unsure of where to go—or if you just want to progress through the game faster—Owlin is there to provide hints.
Hint Shop: Voicecat
A Shinigami who looks like a cat. Its mouse-shaped tail seems to have a mind of its own, but the two appear to get along perfectly.
By speaking to them at the base, you can exchange Scraps of Paper for information about any Shinigami you have already encountered. The information can be viewed anytime in the “Shinigami Encyclopedia” at Voicecat’s place, covering everything from weaknesses useful in your adventure to reactions when eaten. Whenever you encounter an interesting Shinigami, be sure to consult Voicecat.
In addition to these three, the game features a variety of unique characters, such as a Shinigami who lets you explore a “Gallery” to look back at the story and enjoy music, and a Shinigami who shows you Mono’s past memories. Befriend the Shinigami to gain a deeper understanding of the game’s world.
—By giving them Scraps of Paper and becoming their friend, you might even receive a little something…?
—You might even find hidden items within the Ishokan!
Shinigami Hime to Ishokan no Kaibutsu is due out for available now.
