In a message posted to social media, Kuittinen said that after 33 years in the games industry and 31 years at Housemarque, today marks his final day at the studio.
Kuittinen co-founded Housemarque with Harri Tikkanen in 1995, following the founding of Terramarque in 1993. Under his leadership, the studio developed titles such as Supreme Snowboarding, Super Stardust HD, Resogun,
Kuittinen plans to take a break from the games industry beginning in September, but will remain connected through trade shows, award shows, and eventually mentoring or consulting.
Former deputy managing director Sami “Haxu” Hakala took over as Housemarque managing director on July 1, with Kuittinen supporting Hakala and the leadership team through the end of August to ensure a smooth transition.
