In the United Kingdom, a 19-year-old has been sentenced to 28 months in prison after being found guilty of several charges, all centered around the grooming and harassment of a teenage girl he met while playing Roblox. Carlo Tritta, of Hampshire, admitted to several counts of indecent behavior and engaging in sexual communications with a child.
When legal proceedings commenced, Carlo travelled hundreds of miles in a desperate bid to get the girl to drop the case, damaging a camera at her home and breaking into the property. It all began when the pair found each other on Roblox, a platform that’s certainly no stranger to situations like this.
Roblox In Hot Water With New Predator Case
Roblox has found itself in hot water yet again as another malicious individual is jailed for grooming a young gamer on the platform. The Roblox ecosystem has come under fire numerous times in the last few years, as problems with predatory behavior across the entire platform have come into light over and over again.
The Roblox network has faced legal action at the state level in America, and it has been targeted by child protection agencies multiple times. It came out a few months back that Chris Hansen, of ‘To Catch a Predator’, was piecing together an exposé to raise awareness of the platform’s inherent issues.
Earlier today, the BBC reported that, in the United Kingdom, a 19-year-old was jailed for more than two years after admitting to several heinous offenses. He connected with an unnamed 14-year-old on Roblox in 2024, quickly gaining her trust and moving off the platform to other private messaging services.
Per the reports, Carlo Tritta coerced the teen, seeking and sending sexual messages and engaging in indecent conversations with the youngster. Her mother discovered the situation in August 2025 and raised it with the authorities, but not before Tritta had plied the teen with gifts, including takeout food and a secret mobile phone.
Roblox offered a statement following the sentencing:
Our policies firmly prohibit any kind of child exploitation and we have extensive safety systems in place to help prevent user-to-user image sharing and limit chat for younger users, with our teams working closely with law enforcement to support investigations.
While no system is perfect, we continue to evolve and strengthen our protections every day.
The teenage victim’s mother also went on record talking about Roblox
It’s dangerous – it needs to be watched. It’s a kids’ game and adults are getting on there to groom children. They need to do something about it. It should just be for kids. Not for adults to go on to groom.
I think a lot of social media needs to do more to protect young children.
She also revealed how the situation with Tritta quickly became desperate:
She was stuck in this situation where he had passwords for all her social media. He knew who she got the bus home with, he knew who her friends were. He knew what activities she did outside of school.
