Developer Otherside Entertainment and publisher Megabit have announced that their stealth-action heist game, Thick as Thieves, is set to release on May 20.
The reveal came as part of Thursday’s Triple I Initiative Showcase.
Thick as Thieves is a game that comes from the minds of Warren Spector from Deus Ex and Thief: Deadly Shadows, as well as Thief: The Dark Project and Thief: The Metal Age executive producer Paul Neurath. The game has you play alone or with a partner, where you have to “master the art of thievery through cunning gameplay in short-session missions in this dynamic new take on stealth.”
The game, which will be available on PC via Steam, is set in a 1910s metropolis “blending industry, magic and intrigue.”
“Your choices unlock unique playstyles and strategies that shape your thief character,” the game’s description reads. “Tell your story through a fusion of emergent multiplayer gameplay and dynamic storytelling. Immerse yourself in a living world where no two nights are ever the same, ensuring endless challenges and discoveries. ”
The game was originally revealed as a PvPvE game, but recently, the developers decided to make a change to focus solely on two-player co-op and single-player play.
“This sharpened focus has allowed us to double down on what makes Thick as Thieves truly special – dynamic stealth gameplay,” Otherside Entertainment said. “We’re already seeing how this has strengthened the moment-to-moment action, whether you’re playing solo or with a partner in co-op.”
