Here is an overview of the game, via COSMICPUP STUDIO:
Welcome to Elysian Skies: Leave Your Common Sense at the Door
In Ordinary Oddness, urban legends are no longer just a seasoning for horror stories. Instead, they’ve become the core law of Elysian Skies, a city floating above the clouds: Here, the strange is simply common sense. Every year on Mythoid Day, the whole city holds a grand parade celebrating the coexistence of humans and Mythoids. The reveal trailer opens with this very celebration. As a Consulting Investigator, you’ll experience the Mythoid Day parade firsthand, receive candy handed out by Mythoids, and watch hundreds upon hundreds of Mythoids form a sweeping procession that brings the city’s festivities to a climax.
Absurd, lively, and fun, yet tinged with an indescribable strangeness. The Mythoids of Elysian Skies aren’t distant figures from folklore. They’re your neighbors.
Sights and Sounds from the Reality Layer: A Feast for the Eyes and Ears
To deliver a truly immersive experience, Ordinary Oddness uses Unreal Engine 5 to craft high-quality environments, characters, and cinematic sequences. Every scene in the trailer was built in Unreal Engine 5, with camerawork, lighting, and music working in perfect harmony. As the story builds toward its climactic confrontation, the visual spectacle intensifies: The scene suddenly warps, anomalies erupt, and players are pulled seamlessly from the bustling streets of reality into the eerie ruins of the
On the battlefield, Ordinary Oddness focuses on rethinking how combat mechanics interact, delivering a dynamic system built around player choice. Players can move seamlessly between blocks, perfect dodges, and well-timed character switches, chaining actions together to create layers of tactical depth. The reveal trailer features two distinct combat sequences, each showcasing its own signature mechanics. Mythoidized bosses take this further by closely tying their appearance and backstory to their combat style, so players take on encounters where the rules shift based on each Mythoid’s unique traits. On a battlefield of ever-changing mechanics and multi-phase boss forms, players must adapt their tactics on the fly. Each battle offers the satisfaction of working out a solution, with no single right answer.
An Immersive Story of Humans and Mythoids: Uncover the Truth Behind the Mythoids’ Commissions
Your journey through Elysian Skies begins at an unassuming agency. As a Consulting Investigator certified by the Mythoids Investigation Agency (MIA), you’ll take on mundane commissions from humans and Mythoids alike, around the clock. Gradually, however, you’ll discover that these cases are uncovering the hidden secrets behind the coexistence of humans and Mythoids. The trailer showcases one chapter of the main story: from tracking down Luminar and being forcibly dragged into a Psycheidos Zone pieced together from obsession, to glimpsing cruel memories of the past along the rails. Every perilous step into the case and every confrontation gradually reveals the city’s true colors. As for the ultimate truth behind Elysian Skies? It’s waiting for you to step in and uncover it yourself as a Consulting Investigator.
When the curtain falls, the parade carries on as usual. Yet in this world, being normal is the rarest oddity of all. It takes more than a single glance to understand a city—the 22-minute reveal trailer is just the first case file Ordinary Oddness has to share. Deeper urban mysteries and unsolved case files lie hidden in the pages still waiting to be turned.
